Understanding start-up instability in supercritical boilers
Niestabilność rozruchu kotła nadkrytycznego

Streszczenie
The article explains how instability occurs during the start-up of a supercritical boiler. The symptom of instability
is the relatively large movement of the steam discharge pipelines reaching up to 1 m. The course of events and,
among other things, measurements of mass flows, temperatures and pressures in the unstable control systems of valves
regulating the water flow into the boiler during start-up are shown. The conclusion of the analysis is that there is an abnormal
relationship between the cold water flow into the boiler and the hot water flow from the Benson bottle in relation to
the chemical energy of the fuel supplied.
