The impact of fire on changing the strength of the underground shelter structure

    Streszczenie
    Construction standards in many countries related to fire safety only cover requirements for individual materials.
    There is a lack of standards covering the dilution of stress changes during fires. This is particularly important in the case of
    fire shelters. This article shows how a fire affects the stresses occurring in the construction of a building. An underground
    shelter of rectangular shape was used for analysis. The material surrounding the shelter was treated as a material with
    constant values of thermophysical properties. The heating and cooling processes were calculated on the basis of the Fourier’s
    equation. As a result of the simulation, it was obtained the temperature and stress of ceiling construction change during a fire.
    The results of the work clearly show that in addition to complying with normative requirements, when designing a building,
    it should also analyze the change in stresses during fires.
